Artwork for Apparel
Depending on your artwork, there may be a best decoration option available. Determining the best decoration for your artwork is key not only for quality but also for pricing.
EG. Some logos may have too much detail for embroidery, some logos have a gradient and are better for transfers, other logos are a 1 colour which is best for screen printing.
Whether you print 1 colour print on a cotton t-shirt or you print a full colour logo on a polyester jacket your artwork may work better with a specific decoration method based upon the artwork or garment you’ve chosen. Each decoration method works best with specific types of fabric and colours.
The most popular apparel decoration methods are Heat Transfers, Embroidery, Screen Print, Direct to Garment, Deboss, Applique, HXD, inFusion, and PVC Emblems.
It’s always best to try an establish your apparel budget. If your budget is $10 per shirt for 150 shirts, $65 per polo for 15 polos or you have $40 to order one shirt it’s a great idea to have a number in mind. It will help your apparel partner determine your best options up front without creating a lot of unnecessary work and wasted time.
In a perfect world you could place your order for custom apparel today and have it delivered tomorrow. Unfortunately that is not the case. It’s always best to leave yourself 3 weeks to make everything run smooth.
A normal apparel order takes 24-72 hours for a proof, 5-7 days production time and 1-3 days shipping. This example does not include a backordered item or shipping errors.
If you have enough time or you are using 2 or more decoration options it’s always a good idea to get a pre-production sample. Blank or printed samples usually come with a fee. Talk to your apparel partner.
